Fall 2025 Regional Manager’s Report

October 12, 2025

As Fall 2025 is upon us, so is the Election Cycle for Local Politicians. As I’ve said before, ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES. Those Elected Mayors and Officials are often the decision-makers when it comes to voting whether or not a Construction project moves forward in their respective Cities and Towns. Electing Pro-Labor and Pro-Worker candidates who advocate for safer workplaces and careers in the skilled trades with health insurance and retirement benefits helps to strengthen the communities in which we live and raise our families.

On a national level, there is still a lot of uncertainty regarding tariffs and how they will affect ongoing and future Construction Projects in the Northeast. We’ve already seen several jobs be put on hold, as well as a few abandoned altogether.

On a state level, we are excited to announce that the PLA Legislation we have been fighting for over the past years has finally passed in Massachusetts. In addition, Governor Maura Healey has signed an executive order allowing all state construction projects to be considered for a Project Labor Agreement (PLA).

60th Annual Clambake

Local 63 celebrated its 60th Annual Clambake on July 16 at the Ludlow Fish & Game Club. This year’s event was one for the record books, with more than 230 members and guests joining together in solidarity.

A special thank-you goes out to the dozens of Local 63 volunteers whose dedication and hard work made this milestone event a success.

Local 63 is planning an Anniversary & Pin Ceremony Dinner Dance for Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 5 PM – 10 PM at the Springfield Sheraton in Springfield, MA.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR AND KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THE OFFICIAL INVITATION.

As always, I will continue to work collaboratively with the Northeast Regional Council Representatives to provide new work opportunities and reduce administrative costs for our hard-working Brothers and Sisters.
